in this unit i have learnt about different ways of evaluating students levels and progress and about common external exams such as TOEFL and different types of Cambridge assessment's tests. there are numbers of ways to assess a student's language level such as tutorials, evaluation by the students and tests. There are such types of tests: placement tests(used to grade students’ language levels prior to commencing an EFL course), progress test (is given regularly to help the teacher see what information students have retained), diagnostic tests (usually given at the start of the course), practice tests (usually used to prepare students for an external exam).
