Most of this unit was new information to me, as I was not trained in education. But it served as a good resource for tips on how to organize the classroom and mantain positive interactions with the students during the class period. This unit gave an overview of 1) body language (nonverbal communication, including when to use eye contact) between students and teachers for an optimal teaching environment, 2) classroom seating organization, 3) discipline techniques, 4) guidance for establishing rapport between students and the teacher (as well as students and each other), and 5) when to use large group, small group, individual, paired, and whole-class activities.
