This unit discussed how to teach receptive skills. The two receptive skills are reading and listening. And both are very important but reading is often easier because students can reread until they understand. Listening is more difficult because it is only one time. The unit pointed out the different skills needed to reception including skimming and scanning and detailed reading and predicting. It also pointed out the need to keep things interesting and at an appropriate level to motivate learning.
