This unit is the area that I have the most experience in. Part of my undergraduate training was a substitute teacher certification course which focused mainly on classroom management. While reading this unit I perused my textbook from that class and found many similar examples. The area that I found of most interest involved the TTT, or Teacher Talk Time. I found that while going through my memory of my childhood teachers, I found examples of what not to do such being overly elaborate. While I don’t feel that elaboration is the worst trait that an educator could have, it’s certainly not going to assist with keeping the flow of the lesson on track.
