This unit was about course books and other materials, created or authentic. It was interesting to see examples of different kinds of creative materials and important to remember that authentic materials are rarely appropriate for beginners. I learned about the advantages and disadvantages of course books. A course book can be a useful tool for an inexperienced teacher and provides a balance of grammar, vocabulary and skills work. However, if you cannot chose the coursebook to use for the class it may be outdated or not relevant to the group you are working with.
