This unit provided an overview of the productive skills of speaking and writing. I thought it was interesting to be reminded that most students would rather speak than write, but that giving them the chance to write in class can be valuable. It is good for the students to be balanced in their productive skills, and the unit material pointed out that if all writing was assigned as homework, it might receive inadequate attention from many students.
