This unit looked at how to teach new learners. The unit compared teaching vocabulary to teaching grammar. There were useful tips about how to approach teaching vocabulary versus teaching grammar and I learned how the focus is different depending on what you are teaching. There were several good suggestions on how to format a lesson plan for teaching vocabulary and grammar using the ESA method which also served as a reminder about straight arrow, boomerang and patchwork ESA structures and I liked that they gave examples of how a lesson would go.
