This unit was concerned with giving a real example of lessons, to practically see how the previous units' information is used in giving an effective lesson. From this unit in the course I learnt how disastrous a lesson can be when not following the given guidelines. In the first lesson the students were intimidated by the teacher's attitude, and were made to feel stupid for not knowing something. The teacher was not smiling or engaging the students in any way, turning his back on the class, reading, and fiddling with his papers, instead of helping the students. The lesson felt awkward and did not achieve anything. In the second lesson the teacher did almost everything that this course has taught. Smiling, engaging and friendly manner, using easy language, having everything prepared, using groups and pictures, and helping the students as they need it. The lesson was planned well, and the students seem to have enjoyed it, as well as learning the new language point. The only point that could be improved is a better explanation of an imaginary animal for the activity.
