I learnt that a lesson plan helps inexperienced teachers in conducting a class with preparation for dealing with language problems and the direction of the lessons. Lesson plans help teachers to note down what they expect students to achieve by the end of the lesson, help to stay on target with something to refer to during the class, and acts as a record of what a class has done and what materials were used.
