The purpose for this unit is to bring awareness to what makes for a good teacher and what makes for a good learner. It defines the different roles that a teacher has in a classroom and explains the importance of finding balance and creativity when preparing to teach. The explanations of what makes for good learners is useful in understanding the role of the teacher in motivating his/her students.
Awareness of the student's language level is also an important tool for preparing future lessons.
This unit was useful to me because it is important to understand the many and different dynamics one will find when walking into a classroom setting.
