I learnt that teachers play a huge role in maintaining a positive, safe environment for students to communicate with each other, develop one's interest and fluency in English, and a healthy rapport with the teacher. Being conscious of monitoring students during activities, being able to be firm when the situation calls for it and always being respectful with students plays a huge role for students' learning environment and is important for teachers to have a balanced rapport with students.
