This unit discussed speaking and writing. We covered the differences between the two including the varying need for accuracy, different vocabulary, and formality levels. The unit discussed how to engage the students in both speaking and writing focused lessons. I enjoyed the idea of having people work together or in groups for writing exercises and not just speaking exercises. The examples continued to be in ESA format which has made it more clear to me what the various ESA phases are and how to use them. Teaching beginning learners, I think this unit will really come in handy.
