At my school, we do not give a placement test to students before we admit them into the school. The teacher meets the student but that is all. I would like to start giving the students a placement test to see what their skills are before coming into our English school. Due to the type of school that I teach in, we do not teach vocabulary. We are teaching the students how to read, read and comprehend, write, and all other subjects. We have weekly trimester exams but I also do progress exams after I have taught a specific skill. This way when I grade the students I can see what they know and what they don't know. After this chapter, I would really like to talk to my school about starting a placement exam for students coming into the school before we accept them. I think it would be very beneficial for the teachers but also for the parents of the student.
