The definition of 'and non-authentic was not that clear in the reading. I had to stop and look up the meaning which took me out of the 'zone' momentarily. With the understanding of the words, it seems to me that if the goal is just to learn English, that authentic would play a bigger part in the listening and reading spectrum than that of a textbook. I do agree that topic that are on the student's interest list would be more meaningful.
