The content of this first unit dealt with the qualities and functions of teachers and learners. It provided an overview of the most basic things to prepare for when engaging with students of different ages and cultural backgrounds. It provided information on the different rolls a teacher must take and gave insight about when to navigate between those rolls appropriately. I appreciated the insight that was provided concerning different age ranges of students. I thought it was helpful to consider what common challenges or benefits might arise depending on the age of the students in the class.
