In studying this unit I have learned that it is not only about the subject knowledge and ability to explain the subject that is required, there is a distinct amount of empathy required and a considerable amount of desire to teach. The differences in student engagement and motivation based on age I thought was a very relevant part of the unit as it gave a great deal of insight in how to address possible motivation issues and adult students pre-defined teaching ideology. I also now have a greater clarity on the different language levels and my previous understanding has now been changed based on the descriptions provided in the unit. As someone who wants to be a good teacher and effectively educate and improve the level of students the knowledge provided in this unit was extremely beneficial.
