Unit 1 is an overview of what makes a good and successful English class. The unit explains that in order to be a successful English teacher you need to have qualities such as knowing the content and caring about your students more than caring about teaching. I think that is one of the most important things I learned from this unit. When we really care about our students, they will feel respected and valued and will then find joy in learning. The unit also explains what makes a good student and how a teacher must take on different roles throughout their teaching experience to work with their students in the best way that will benefit them and their learning.
