This unit covers the importance of testing, the different types of testing that can be done by the teacher, and finally a large list of external tests. Testing is very important all throughout a English class course. From the very beginning (Placement tests), to the start of a new course (disagnostic test), to see what information has been retained (progress tests, though these don't always have to be formal exams, they can be informal as a game to gauge what the students have retained), and practice tests (these help prepare students to take external exams).
