Learning the technical aspects of the English language. Knowing the details of grammar that goes into English is essential when teaching to students. Many students depending on the level of proficiency they have towards the language can often ask many detailed questions about what certain words, sentences, and paragraphs are the way they are.
It is important as the teacher to be able to identify the different details that go into the grammar of the English language. Knowing the difference between a verb, noun, etc. is just as important as knowing why a verb may be transitive or intransitive or why an adverb is either comparative or superlative or even why a noun is countable or uncountable. These various details show the skill set possessed by the teacher and by knowing these details you can have a better command of the students and a respect given as opposed if you were ignorant of many of the technical aspects of grammar.
