Unit 2 provided an overview of parts of speech. One of my major takeaways from this unit is that in English there are many parts of speech with very specific functions and many irregularities, which means that certain parts of speech will be difficult for students to grasp. For example, I imagine understanding the differences between simple past and past participles, as well as definite and indefinite articles would be difficult. We take our understanding of these parts of speech, as well as our understanding of their orders for granted, but these may be difficult for students.
