This unit went over what should be the main goals of the first lesson of your class, techniques for achieving these goals, and problems you might run into in the classroom and how to deal with them, such as a class of varying language ability and how to encourage reluctant students to speak. The biggest thing I learned from this unit was the goals of my first lesson, and several techniques for meeting these goals. After this unit, I feel a lot more comfortable with the thought of walking into and teaching a new class for the first time.
