I had never really thought about receptive and productive skills in this systematic way, before. I like the idea of reading and listening being receptive, but I think that this binary of receptive/productive is false and probably doesn't accurately represent the way the brain works and the way we process and produce information, processes which are not mutually exclusive and happen simultaneously.
