Past tense is very important for students to learn, yet can be a little bit challenging in the English language, as there are many irregularities and odd verbs. The only way to learn these verbs is through practice and memorization. When it comes to the past perfect continuous tense it is important to remember to include the use of "had" while adding "ing" to the end of the verb. It might be useful for students to receive lecture style instruction, and then practice in small groups with correction form the teacher to fully get the points.
