This unit provides information on lesson planning. Too much lesson planning may create a more fixed, teacher centered learning atmosphere, which could reduce students’ enthusiasm towards language study. However, it might be necessary for inexperienced teacher to do planning in advance due to their lack of direction .The best way for teaching is to complete lesson plan forms as well as building in flexibility in the classroom. It demonstrates all the contents included in a lesson plan through an example of a standard lesson plan format. This example gives us clear guide as to how a standard lesson plan looks like and what type of necessary information should be included in the plan for our teaching. In addition, an example of a self-evaluation form is also provided here for teacher to evaluate his/her own lessons, which will help teacher to develop and monitor the quality of the lessons. All the examples included in this unit greatly improve my understanding for lesson planning. Lesson planning with flexibility plays an important role in teaching activities, especially with inexperienced teachers. Plan ahead results in better performance.
