There was a lot of new information in this unit and it took me some time to absorb it all. I am still digesting the ESA method that is taught in this course. I myself learned French with the Audio-lingual method, which was very effective in teaching grammatical patterns, but not so effective in teaching fluency. The ESA method appears to be comprehensive and student-centered; I look forward to learning more about it. I like the flexibility it gives the teacher to address the needs of her particular students, and can see how it can be adapted to many situations. There is a link mentioned in the material to a site where teachers can obtain teaching resources; I hope the course will provide with more sites we can access to help our students.
