Unit four covers the present tenses, their forms, usages, typical student errors and activities that can be incorporated in the activate stage of a lesson. This unit provides a simple breakdown of the different forms for each present tenses namely, th affirmative, negative and question forms. Each tense form is explained with the use of a structured format. This provides a simple way to identify each tense. For example, a simple way to identify the present continuous tense affirmative form is by following this pattern: (subject +auxiliary verb 'be' + verb + ing ). This can help to bring across the tenses in a simple way. After studying this unit, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the common mistakes learners of English make and how to go about correcting these mistakes. I have also learnt a number of activities that I can use in the activate stage of my lessons.
