In this unit, i have learnt how to evaluate and assess students through; tutorials, using questionnaire or guided discussions to know the mind of students concerning the course they are taking and tests. Placement test help teachers to place students in their correct language level, progress test helps the teacher to monitor what students have retained during their course of study, diagnostic test are usually done at the beginning of the course to see what students already know, practice test are done by students in preparation for an external examination to assess their level of preparedness while eternal examinations are assessment done by national and international bodies for students of English language. External exams are done for various purposes and examples of these exams are; TOEFL, TOEIC and Cambridge assessments.
