This unit introduces the subject of evaluating and testing your students’ language skills. Within it we look at the wide variety of tests that can be used before, during and at the end of an English language course. I have learned from this unit that, continual assessment is the most effective way to constantly monitor students’ progress, diagnostic tests can provide teachers with information regarding future lessons, and practice tests are often used for external exams.
