1. Present simple - implies a current state. a. structure i. Affirmative (subject + base form) ii. Negative (subject + aux verb 'do' + base form) iii. Question (aux verb 'do' + subject + base form) b. Sample activate stage - student chooses a profession and demonstrates it while the others guess the type of profession. 2. Present continuous a. Form i. Affirmative (subject + aux verb 'be' + verb + ing) ii. Negative (subject + aux verb 'be' + not + verb + ing) iii. Question (aux verb + subject + verb + ing) b. Sample activate stage teaching - a student mime and the rest of the class guess what she's demonstrating. 3. Present perfect a. Form i. affirmative (subject + aux verb 'have' + past participle) ii. Negative (subject + aux verb 'have' + not + past participle) iii. Question (aux verb 'have' + subject + past participle) b. Sample activate stage - two or more students go out of the class while the rest of the students move objects like the dustbin and desk drawer around. when the absent students return, let them guess what has been moved by asking questions like ''have you moved the desk?'' 4. Present perfect continuous a. Form i. Affirmative (subject + aux verb 'have' + been + verbing + ing) ii. Negative (subject + aux verb 'have' + not + been + verb + ing) iii. Question (aux verb 'have' + subject + been + verb + ing) b. Sample activate stage teaching - a student tells the others the result of activity while the rest of the students guesses the activity. From this unit, I learnt the correct use of the present tense and how to apply it in sentences.
