As a native English speaker, I use all of these tenses interchangeably without even noticing it. It was especially important that I learned the differences between the Present Perfect form and the Present Perfect Continuous form, since these are both relatively similar. I can see how this would be a difficult topic to teach to younger students, but I feel as though the more experience they have, the easier they will grasp on to the concepts.
