This section covered evaluating students' abilities and understanding, and covered several types of tests. Sample tests were given as an example of what a student learning English may receive. I learned that placement and diagnostic tests are similar in judging what a student knows, but one is used as a way to group students of similar ability together for a better learning and teaching experience. I also learned of several different external proficiency exams that I should be aware of.
