Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit discusses the various theories over the years of how a second language should be learned. The pros and cons of each of the theories are also discussed. Factors to determine which method is best in a particular class include the teacher's personality, the needs of the students and their culture. To motivate the student and give them the opportunity to be exposed to and use the language, this unit suggests that the teacher use the elements of 'ESA'-Engage, Study and Activate. The engage portion of the class arouses the interest of the student through stimulating games and stories. In the study phase the student will practice the language point that is to be covered during that class. The use of worksheets and boardwork are important aspects of this stage. The activate stage allows the students to use the language skills that they have learned in small groups, pairs or in debate. There are variations of this element that can be adapted in different classes. This lesson was helpful to me because I learned how to structure a class and various activities that I can use to make my class more interesting. I teach younger ESL students and I use a lot of TPR, props and fill in the gap methods but need to add some of the other elements to keep my students motivated and encouraged to learn the language.
