There are many different methodologies used in EFL teaching that have been developed over the years. As with most things, one of the most effective ways of teaching EFL is to incorporate elements of most, if not all of these methodologies into the classroom. One such method is ESA - Engage, Study, Activate. This method allows the teacher a great deal of flexibility to introduce a broad range of tasks and activities into the lesson. Doing so gives students a great deal of exposure to the language and the opportunity to discover it on their own, allows teacher input and a broad scope to give feedback, and increases the chance of a fun, flexible, varied and supportive learning environment.
