In this unit we learn about the different past tenses. We learn about the past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and the past perfect continuous. In this chapter we learn the usages for each tense and the irregular forms. For the past simple tense there are a lot of irregular verbs that we must take note of because they do not follow the regular past simple rule. This will be very important for students to know and memorize so that they do not get caught up on these words when using them in the past. It will be important to teach the usages to the students for these tenses as it will help them better able to differentiate between what tense to use in each situation.
