This unit focused on planning lessons for teaching vocabulary, grammar (language structures), and language functions. It provided suggestions of how to choose which to teach as well as techniques for each of the three lesson stages (engage, study, activate). It also provided a sample plan (straight-arrow for vocabulary, boomerang for language structure and patchwork for language functions) for each of the three contents. It is important to note (as it did in the unit) that each of these plans is just a sample and there are many different ways that they can be introduced and practiced based on the context and audience.
