Unit 5 covers the subject of Class Management quite effectively in my opinion. It details the various scenarios where Teacher Talk Time (TTT) is appropriate and the different options that are available to an inexperienced teacher in maintaining an encouraging learning environment. It highlights the pros and cons of qrouping students and explains the impact of voice projection, gesture and eye contact on a lesson’s effectiveness. I particularly appreciated the addition of maintaining discipline in the class as I personally struggle with this in my class. The information given in this unit helps clarify some of the particular areas in which I have been failing my students. I cannot wait to put the information I have learnt here to use come Monday!
