Unit 16 expresses the conditionals and reported speech.
There are two main clauses in conditional sentences ; If clause and Main clause.
Zero conditionals are used to express general truth, Scientific facts and issues certain to happen. It forms as If clause+present tense,present tense.
First conditionals are used to express backup plans, promises, threats or warnings and likely results of possible future situations. It forms as if clause+ present simple,will+base.
Second conditionals are used t express dreams, fantasies, hypothetical situations. it forms as if clause+ past simple, would+base form.
Third conditionals are used to express regrets, excuses. it forms as if clause+past perfect,would +have+ past participle.
Mixed conditionals are used to express hypothetical situations and their hypothetical present results.
It forms as if+ past perfect, would +base form of verb.
