Unit 13 covers teaching pronunciation and phonology. I was taught the definition of phonology and the difference between intonation and stress as well as the techniques for indicating and teaching intonation and stress. I learnt some intonation patterns and rules that help in understanding where to put stress. I was also taught the four ways of joining sounds in the English language. The unit also addressed the phonemic alphabet and I was shown a chart that contains all the phonemic symbols. I was also taught the manner and place of articulation although I personally found this part of the unit a bit difficult. I know with further studying I will eventually do better and grasp more in that particular area.
