This unit helped me recognize how extrinsic things can determine the effectiveness of the teaching and learning experience. It was useful to have information provided as to the importance of classroom seating and how it can impact the effectiveness of the lesson being taught. It was useful to be given information on how to maintain classroom discipline without trying. It was beneficial to have it reinforced that gesture and prosody are important to maintaining student attention. These are issues I hadn't thought about with respect to teacher/student successful interactions.
