Most importantly, there is a wide range of ways in which to engage learning in the classroom. The most commonly used strategy is the ESA- Engage, Study and Activate. Engage is usually an experiential that triggers student interest and motivation. It does not have to be related to the content of the lesson. Study involves deliberate practice for students to learn a particular concept or topic. Students engage in exercises and activities design to help them understand. Activate is then an opportunity for students to engage in an activity that allows students to practice what they have learned as well as for the teacher to get a sense of what students know, don't know and can then revise the lesson to provide high-quality and targeted feedback.
