This unit talks about the different ways of evaluating and assessing the level of the students:
- placement test to determine the level of the student (prior starting a class)
- diagnostic test which gives information about the students's current strengths and weaknesses
- progress test which indicates areas the students are having problems with
- practice test which enables the students to revise before an examination (usually the format should be similar to the examination)
- external proficiency tests (KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, etc)
