Prepositions are challenging to teach, as there seems to be no order to them. However, their function is to show relationships between parts of the sentence, nouns or phrases, and are thus very important. I was excited to learn this, because it is easier to struggle with something challenging when you understand its significance. It helps to know what purpose each part of speech serves, both with identifying what part of speech a word is and rationalizing where to put each word in a sentence.
