The lesson is informing us about conditionals and reported speech. Especially they are emphasizing the importance of when to use these grammar points and how they could be taught to students. I think students need a very thorough understanding of the past and present tense forms before attempting to learn about direct speech reports. The direct speech and reported speech are similar in form that it will be confusing to figure out the correct version without clear and concrete examples and lots of practice. I learned the importance of having lots and lots of sample sentences for students to read and construct. This way they can practice needed to know rules of conditionals and reported speech. I think interviews and split sentence assignments are could for teaching grammar points.
