This lesson was discussing teaching special groups such as multilingual classes, company classes, young learners, etc. It was discussing the importance of being aware of your students’ needs and the importance of being prepared to teach classes of all kinds. All the different groups will need certain things but first and foremost they will all need to learn English. Motivation levels will vary, as well as proficiency levels, but as their teacher I should ride the waves and make a comfortable teaching environment that is effective. I learned, for example, that I would need to be flexible with my schedule if I teach a group of tired company workers or be aware that my one on one class may be cancelled due to circumstance. I believe being flexible and willing to be creative is important for all types of learners and will help with productivity in the end.
