The unit covered evaluation and testing. First it was stated that the students' language level can be assessed either by tutorials, using students' evaluation or by tests. This was followed by a review of different tests: placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice tests and general external examinations. A sample of a placement test was provided. I don't think I had ever seen a placement test before so I found that interesting. I also learned more about the different external examinations as I wasn't familiar with them all, for instance the Skills for Life test.
