The unit discussed common problem situations in teaching. The first point concerned first lessons, giving tips and activities to do instead of using the course book. The second point stressed the importance of warmers and included a list of typical warmer ideas. Thirdly, level differences were discussed and tips provided to deal with them. The forth point concerned large classes and how to work with them succesfully. Next, several solutions were given to avoid the use of native language. The following paragraphe gave some ideas to motivate reluctant students, and finally, the last point addressed difficulties with listening skills. I found the unit interesting and helpful as it addressed indeed common problems encountered when teaching, and the solutions seem good, clear, simple, definitely worth trying. I liked the idea of appointing group leaders in a large classroom; often as a teacher we think we have to do everything ourselves. Only responding to English also seems like a good practice to me. I will certainly come back to this unit for advice.
