This unit described many of the important aspects of class management such as building rapport with students, having students work in groups or pairs, seating arrangements, and discipline. It is important to know about how to communicate effectively in the classroom without there being too much teacher talk time and knowing how to increase student talk time. This unit also described the many benefits of student talk time while as well as the importance of and helpful suggestions for effective teacher talk time. This unit explained the importance of eye contact, gestures, and voice control in the classroom as well as appropriate ways in which teachers should respond to problem behaviors.
