This unit provided information regarding the many different roles of a teacher and descriptions of each. These allowed me to critically consider how each role is made effective in the classroom and when each role is appropriate. This unit also described some of the characteristics of "good teachers" and "good students." This helped me to be more aware of characteristics I should be looking for and striving to further develop in myself as well as characteristics that I should find ways to encourage in my students. This until also addressed the multiple stages of language experience which I was able to recognize in myself and others and consider how my teaching methods should differ according to the level of language experience of my students. It was also interesting to learn more about the differences between adult and younger students and how my teaching methods should cater to these differences.
