Lessons vary depending on the students who are taking it, while text books are generic they can be very helpful fo new teachers still developing their teaching techniques but it is true, it can be dangerous that teachers will just follow the text book for the whole course and not try to create better, more suitable teaching lessons for the students. Creativity plays a big role for teaching, it helps students participate more if they see that the teacher exerts more effort in making the lesson more understandable and applicable to students.
