There are four tenses that we use to speak about present experiences: the Present Simple, the Present Continuous, the Present Perfect and the Present Perfect Continuous. Although they all refer to the present time, the way we use them differs a great deal. For instance, we use the Present Simple to talk about habits, routines and laws of nature, whereas the Present Continuous can't be used for the same purpose, but it describes actions in progress.
